We’re planning to go to La Tasca in Victoria Square for something to eat, and then head on to the Christmas Market at City Hall for drinks after. We’ll be meeting in the foyer of the SU at 6, around the comfy seats.
If you wanna come, email back and let us know so we have some idea of numbers and who to expect. Oh, and feel free to bring your mates. The more the merrier!
Rather than have a proper Christmas meal, we thought it might be better to go somewhere “normal” for dinner, and then go to a pub/bar/club/Christmas market after. Question is… where do we go eat? Any ideas – comment below and we’ll put it to the vote…
Provisional date for this is Tuesday 15th December.
With only 2 more weeks left until the end of the semester, you’re probably getting excited about Christmas. Next Thursday there’s a Christmas Carol service at All Soul’s Church (at the end of Elmwood Ave, opposite Starbucks), so why not come along, have a little sing song and then go out for a drink after.
If you’re interested in coming, send us an email lgbt@qub.ac.uk.
As I mentioned in a previous email, theres a lecture happening in the PFC room 209 entitled “Gay Rights and Homosexual Law Reform in Northern Ireland“. It’s at 5.15. If anyone is interested in going, we’re meeting at 5pm in the SU foyer, and heading from there.
Thursday – Meeting
We’re having a meeting with a discussion entitled “Private vs Public“. The discussion will be facilitated by one of our members, Gilda Neri, and will be used to form part of her dissertation. Don’t worry though, all contributions will be confidential within the group!
During our daily life there are circumstances in which the nature of our sexual orientation, whatever it is, could become somehow public and visible to others, whether we want it or not. Does your behavior change in those circumstances? How so? Do you think that to be open about your sexuality could be the cause of some sort of discrimination toward you? Do you think Belfast is comfortable environment that freely welcomes all king of different sexual identity? How and why?
This will be on the 3rd floor of the Student’s Union, at 7pm.
Friday – The Laramie Project
The queer arts Outburst Festival is full swing, and on Friday evening they’re staging a production of The Laramie Project in the Black Box. See the website for more details. http://www.outburstarts.com/?p=109 If you’re interested in coming to this, email me.
Please see below an advertisement from NAT (National AIDS Trust). We are looking for voluntary Community Fundraisers in the run-up to World AIDS Day 2009.
Rather than have a meeting this Thursday (22nd Oct), we’re going to have a movie night, meeting at the SU at 6.40ish, and heading to the Dublin Road Movie House Cinema.
We couldn’t decide what to see, so we narrowed it down to two choices, up to you guys to vote. The one with the most votes is the one we’ll go see…
Here at Queen’s LGBT we often get emailed asking us to forward questionnaires, surveys and invites to panels to you guys. So, rather than send all these to you and clog up your inboxes, we’re going to put them up on here.
